Hospitality Sales Associate

The Area Group Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and increasing their assigned account base (market segments) with primary focus 100 miles radius of Napa Valley. Ensuring revenue targets are achieved by processing inbound inquiries, leads procured through prospecting, repeat business from the same origin and appropriate accounts as assigned. Responsible for prospecting, negotiating, and contracting the business. then turning over to Area Catering and Conference Services Manager or Executive Meeting Manager for detailing of the customer needs for food and beverage and meeting rooms if appropriate. Responsible for achieving Train Tours, Train Events sales as assigned and other assigned  Group goals at both RTI and NVWT as set by Regional Director and GM.

MARKET SEGMENT

Groups of 10 or more in the following Market Segments: Corporate, Incentive, association, Government, and social rooms only blocks for events not being held on the property.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Actualize activity goals to meet revenue targets; follows and executes daily, monthly, and annual sales Action Plans. 
  • Careful attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, community & partners. 
  • Responds to all sales inquiries within 6-8 hours preferably, qualifying them for current and future potential, and sending a complete and compelling written proposal within 24 hours. 
  • Follows up on all inquiries within the business day to secure the business. 
  • Continually solicit repeat business and referral business. 
  • Determines the customer’s needs, space availability, group, or meeting/event details and food and beverage. 
  • Evaluate profitability, timeliness, and desirability of the business.
  • Negotiate pricing and aggressively and immediately closes the sale. 
  • Responsible for maximizing revenues as well as maximizing function space usage and profitability. Assists other sales managers as needed to increase sales skills and closure rates on all business. 
  • Practice superior sales skills that result in building/maintaining of professional business relations. 
  • Communication and following through with RTI and NVWT management and outside vendors to ensure the sale commitment is fulfilled. 
  • Responsible for establishing customer relationships that will encourage repeat business.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hotel and train services/features and hours of operation.
  • Exhibit complete knowledge of office equipment, computers and software’s and manual systems required. 
  • Maintain up to date files to ensure proper coordination of sales commitment as well as customer needs. 
  • Networking at local business events while being an ambassador within the community including Visit Napa Valley, Wineries, Vendors, and competitors for referral opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison with competitors, industry associations, keeping abreast of competitor’s services, facilities, and accounts to ensure the train remains in a competitive position.
  • Prepare contracts, rate proposals and property information databases. 
  • Completes the sales process with signed contract, obtaining deposits, with Events/Groups Sales Manager to maintain account files including signed contracts with current direct-bill applications. 
  • Ensures Sales Goal tracking is completed weekly for measuring goal progress. Monthly reporting is required to ADOSM.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day. Always maintain positive guest relations.
  • Adopt and contribute to a positive environment and cooperative spirit with the Sales division, as well as participate in train and departmental functions for clients and employees.
  • Practice strong and effective time management skills. 24.
  • Knowledge and use of Delphi FDC a must.
  • Utilize the Corporate Team from Noble House Hotels and Resorts; Visit Napa Valley along with properties in San Francisco in the Noble House portfolio as resources ensuring maximum brand exposure of RTI and NVWT. 
  • This position requires being available outside of the standard M-F business week for sales activities including but not limited to sales trips, customer arrivals, entertainment, site inspections, property events, volunteer events, etc.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Attend designated meetings.
  •  Special tasks and projects as assigned. 
  • Other duties and markets as assigned. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

In the Sales office and all areas of the train, outside the building for sales calls, trade shows and traveling to other states for business. 

Job involves working: 

  • Inside Sales office
  • Outside sales – Cold-calling and prospecting to achieve sales calls and prospecting quotas (estimate 50+% of time) 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS: 

  • Internal: ADOSM, other members of the sales and catering team, operating departments, and peers 
  • External: With Group Clients (as assigned) partner hotels, wineries/wine clubs, business, and community partners etc. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • College graduate or equivalent. 
  • Proven, outstanding sales ability. 
  • 3 years’ experience in sales, preferably in market. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Time Management skills to complete all work in allotted time. 
  • Ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to close business that is profitable for the Hotel and train. 
  • Excellent attention to details to meet both external and external client needs. 
  • Excellent problem resolution skills 
  • Be an active team player, self -motivated and working with minimal supervision. 
  • Possess sales and upselling skills to increase group business, leisure sales and banquet and F+B revenue

Desirable: 

  • Previous Professional Sales Training 
  • Knowledge of Delphi FDC, SMS and suite of Microsoft office products including TEAMS. 

PHYSICAL ABILITIES 

  • Essential: Endure various physical movements throughout the work area. 
  • Ability to function within an office environment. 
  • Ability to transport oneself for sales calls, trade shows etc. 
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
